Art Works is the Local Arts Forum for the Hall Green area which includes Moseley, Hall Green, Sparkbrook , Springfield, Balsall Heath and Kings Heath. We work with artists and organisations to develop art and artists in the area. We are currently looking for volunteers to increase our work within the area including Social Media Assistant, Events Assistant and Volunteer Bloggers.
30th November - Midnight

All are roles are voluntary.

Social Media Assistant
Tasks
  1. To work with local arts coordinator to increase engagement of social media on Twitter and Facebook
  2. To provide content for Facebook Group and Twitter profile
  3. To schedule relevant, interesting and engaging content on Twitter profile.
  4. Commitment of at least 2 hours a week

Personal Specification
Essential
  1. A passion supporting artists in all it’s forum
  2. Experience of utilising social media to build a community
  3. Experience with Twitter, Tweetdeck, and Facebook.
  4. The ability to write engaging, interesting and relevant digital content.
  5. To have a good understanding of the arts sector within Hall Green and more broadly Birmingham
  6. Ability to work independently of direct supervision
Desirable
  1. To live within the Hall Green area
  2. To be a practising artist in any form

Events Assistant
Tasks
  1. To support events that Art Works and partner organisations organise
  2. Work with local coordinator to help plan, and deliver events
  3. Assist in physical promotion of events.
  4. To be available to support artist-led events across the district

Personal Specification
  1. Experience in event planning of small and large scale events
  2. Experience of working/volunteering in a customer service setting
  3. Ability to work in a promotional setting
  4. Ability to take own initiative
  5. Ability to work independently of direct supervision
  6. Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable
  1. To live within the Hall Green area
  2. To be a practising artist in any form

Blogger
Tasks

  1. To provide at least one arts related blog a month for Art Works website.
  2. To regularly attend arts related launches, community events and events in the hall green area.
  3. Contribute content for the Art Works Monthly newsletter such as artist spotlight/events listings/promotional activity

Person Specification
Essential
  1. A passion and interest in the artistic community in Birmingham
  2. A passion for the arts
  3. Experience of writing blogs preferably arts related
  4. High attention to detail
  5. Good understand IT software e.g Microsoft Word, Blogspot
  6. Ability to take own initiative
  7. Ability to work independently of direct supervision
  8. Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable
  1. To live within the Hall Green area
  2. To be a practising artist in any form

Creative Families Festival Opportunity

This year The Springfield Project are focusing on the idea of Curiosity for their Creative Families festival.  It was so successful last year that we are extending it to FOUR days over the October half term this time – 30 th October – 2 nd  November 10 – 3.00pm.    The motivation for this year will be around  Curiosity – why how what?  When really wow!  What wakes curiosity and wants to make you find out more?  I would like to involve art, light and shadow, drama, roleplay, dance, song and making in this collaboration and invite your expressions of interest by 5.00pm 21 st  September.
