FREE WORKSHOP WITH STAN'S CAFE

Join Stan's Cafe Thursday 11th October, from 7:30 - 8:30pm at the Old Print Works!
All welcome!

Based in the Jewellery Quarter, Stan's Cafe has been making work in Birmingham for 27 years. This Autumn Stan’s Cafe Theatre will be premiering our new devised piece The Capital at Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Inspired by economic theories of inequality The Capital slides back and forth through the city, using a powerful and direct visual language to tell diverse stories of wealth and poverty and how these states are entwined with each other. The Capital uses moving walkways, bold performance and a rich soundtrack to turn its themes of financial inequality and strained human relationships into a vivid visual story told without words. We want to connect with local community groups and invite them to a free workshop session, to explore the themes in the show. This workshop is an opportunity to open up conversations around people's perspectives on and experiences of living in the city of Birmingham. Importantly, these conversations will have the potential to inform how Stan's Cafe creates the characters and the stories within The Capital

People attending the workshop will not only have a free workshop with Stan's Cafe, but will also be entitled to a special discount ticket offer of £7 to come and see the show this 24 - 27 October
